Raw sugar comes from evaporated cane juice and does not go through the same chemical process as your regular table sugar, hence it is less processed. Because not all of the molasses is removed during the processing, raw sugar tends to have a richer flavor than white table sugar. It is a known fact that molasses contains vitamins and minerals and can be included as part of a healthy diet, but remember that with sugar "moderation" is always advised.
